first things first

I'm going to give blogging a try.  I got the idea for a blog from reading John's Wheelbarrow and his account of starting Reverse Garbage in Brisbane. A good practical account of getting grassroots, not-for-profit ideas off the ground.
I'm going to fill this space with stories of our progress, inspirations and thoughts, so stay tuned.

A brief introduction:

MRA is a social enterprise that delivers pedal power opportunities to events and demonstrates the potential for renewable energy through events and workshops.   MRA’s mission is to inspire and empower a wider understanding and uptake of renewable energy technologies and create a movement towards Australians reducing their energy consumptive habits.  We will achieve this by engaging our audiences in how energy works in a fun and interesting way.

Magnificent Revolution have been running in the UK for years and here, over the other side of the world, we'd like to get the same thing cranking.  You can get a feel for what I am talking about by visiting www.magnficientrevolution.org.

If you'd like to know more of what we are doing here in Australia, it pretty much boils down to a funding hunt.  I've used Fundbreak (now called Pozible), Big Plan (check it out http://www.planbig.com.au/magnificent-revolution-australia-pedal-power-education-and-entertainment) and seeking partnerships, donations and grants.
